A while back, I submitted a couple of concepts to a competition run by Summerblossom Handmade Accessories via their Facebook page. I was thrilled when a little email popped up informing me I’d been selected as one of the ten finalists.

After much postie-stalking, a gorgeous little package arrived in my mailbox. I slowly unwrapped the tissue paper, and there in my hand were two beautiful (and beautifully made) Summerblossom hair pins.

The last details pulled together, Steph and I headed out to our location, and we had a blast shooting some images for the competition. I hope you like these images as much as I do, and if you feel so inclined, I’d appreciate any “likes” or comments on my photo over at Summerblossom’s facbeook page – you can find my photo here.

I got to hang with Grace on Saturday. We laughed, we chatted. We talked about school and work and the future. In between, we shot some photos.

Grace’s session was part of my mini-sessions project. For Year 12 students, a mini-session package is a great way to mark the milestone that is finishing school, and is often the last lot of professional portraits you may get taken before getting married. What a great way to start off your post-school life! I will be regularly running sessions throughout 2011 in Inverell, and am also happy to travel to Glen Innes, Moree, Tenterfield and throughout the Northern NSW/New England area. The next round of mini-sessions will be held on Wednesday, April 13 (the first Wednesday of the school holidays). For full details and scheduled dates, email rachel{at}rachelmeszaros.com.au or follow me on Facebook.

Seniors 2010

September 1, 2010

On Saturday, we finally had a break in the rain, and just in time – I was due to meet up with a couple of super-cute year twelve students to shoot their seniors mini-sessions. Caitlin and Casey were so much fun to shoot, I think I laughed the entire time!

A sneak peek of what we came up with:

Year 12 Class of 2010 portrait mini sessions Mini portrait sessions for year 12 students - great gift idea!

The next round of mini-sessions will be held in Inverell on September 18. For more information, or to register, you can reach me by email at rachel[at]rachelmeszaros.com.au, or by phone on 0404 009 468.

(Not in Inverell? Don’t be shy, drop me an email and we’ll see if we can set something up in your area!).

Something new…

I’m back on the blogging bandwagon after my break with something exciting to share with you…

Gift cards!

Birthday cards are now in stock at Swaddle, Inverell’s newest baby & children’s store. Baby cards are soon to follow. I’m so excited! Make sure you head down and see Abby, and take a look.

Warming Up Winter #2

August 26, 2009

Ok, so winter is almost gone, especially after the last few days. Seriously, 33degrees in August? Just crazy! But even though I’m running behind schedule, I’ve finally gotten around to posting my twice-in-a-row-so-we’ll-call-it-annual Warming Up Winter competition, a fun little exercise in review I started last year. I’ve picked five of my favourite images from the last 12-ish months, and I need your help to pick a winner! The client to whom the winning image belongs will receive that image as an 8x10inch print. And this year, just to change things up a bit, I’ll also pick a voter at random, to receive an 8x10inch print – either an image from a previous session, or from their next session with me.

So, on that note, the nominees are *drumroll*

From Ang and Jon’s beautiful wedding at Kings Plains Castle:

I just adore this image from a newborn session I shot in Glen Innes – a sleepy baby holding on tight to her mummy. Tender moments like this pull at my heartstrings.

I think it would be impossible to take a bad photo of this beautiful girl, who was a good sport & helped me kick off my year twelve/seniors sessions.

A delightful 1-week-old baby boy being watched over by his big sister, from a recent Inverell newborn session.
comp4

A very happy little 2-month-old baby – you wouldn’t guess we’d just spent twenty minutes trying to cinvince her to sleep, would you?

So that’s the five. I’ve leave the voting open until Friday, September 11, and then announce the winners sometime after that!

The fine print:
1. One vote per person.
2. Vote by leaving a comment saying which is your favourite image.
3. Voting open from now until midnight September 11.
4. Winning image will be printed as an 8x10inch print for the client to whom the image belongs.
5. One voter will be drawn at random to receive a voucher for an 8x10inch print, valid for all sessions booked before 31 December (to be held before March 31, unless prior arrangements have been made)
6. Voucher winner will be liable for all session fees and travel costs as normally apply.
7. Winner decided by popular vote, so post a link on your Facebook, tweet it, blog it, get the word out & get people voting for your image!
8. Good luck!
