Maisie :: newborn

September 8, 2011

At two weeks old, Maisie seemed so tiny, in my mind, anyway. Having just left my three small people, the youngest of which is now 11 months, to head to Warialda for Maisie’s newborn portraits, she was a featherweight as she curled up on my chest after being offered a cuddle. Quite the surprise I got to find she was over 8lb born!

Dan and Sam, thanks so much for having me out, I had a lovely afternoon hanging with you and getting some cuddles with your beautiful baby girl.

One of the best parts of doing what I do, is watching and capturing the way a family grows and evolves. Like the family of this young chap:

From big brother Tommy’s 6 month portraits, and more recently, Kate’s lifestyle maternity shoot, now it’s little Andy’s turn to star in some photos of his own.

A favourite snuggle spot:

Playing together:

Isn’t he all cheek!

And of course, favourite Mr Monkey had to come out to play as well!

I don’t noramlyy share the out-takes, but this one cracks me up so much, I can’t help it. It doesn’t help that I was quite low to the ground for this one, and while Savannah distracted us all attempting to lick baby Andy, her partner in crime saw an opportunity – apparently my ear was just too tempting, as I discovered when it was attacked by a warn west nose!

I had an absolute blst hanging out with these guys, If you would like to see more from the session, head over to the Facebook page.

{just a little note on family sessions – the last date to guarantee Chrismats delivery is the end of November. I am getting close to booked out for both October and November, so if youw ould like photos before Christmas this year, drop me a line at rachel@rachelmeszaros.com.au, or give me a call on 0412 223 332, and we can get something lined up}

Big round cloth butts that is! To me, there is nothing cuter than a tiny babe with a cloth covered bottom. I’ve been a modern cloth nappy fan since our first son was born, and three children later, my stash has grown quite comprehesively!

One of my more recent stash additions is BubbaButts all-in-two snap in nappies. As well as being cute and good for the environment, these nappies also equal a lower carbon footprint for me, as they are made right here in Inverell! When Kristy first approached me about some promo shots, we were kicking around a few ideas for the shoot, and Kristy suggested a custom nappy. Which may just be the cutest butt I have ever seen…

And it even has a matching pinny!

The shoot also saw the launch of BubbaButts newest range, the SnazziButt…

And of course, we had a FunkiButt and a BareButt nappy to round out the range…

For more information on BubbaButts, head over to the Facebook page for all the latest news. You can also find BubbaButts at the Little Gems Baby and Childrens Markets in Inverell on August 13, and at the Armidale Baby Expo on September 17.

High Horses…

July 30, 2011

Having a bit of sticky beak at other stallholders at the upcoming Armidale Baby Expo (more on that later!), I came across the gorgeous handcrafted hobby horses made by Guyra-based business, Calamity Bolt. I was instantly in love. The beautiful details, the old-fashioned simplicity, I knew I wanted one. But when I got in touch with owner and artisan, Elke, it seemed that due to a few since-resolved supplier issues, she wouldn’t be able to make enough stock for the expo.

Which got me thinking. Clickity-click went the little cogs in my mind, and soon enough, a short little email was sent, and soon blossomed in vibrant reality. Two of the “stud” horses appeared on my front verandah for a holiday and a play, and playing we have been!

These images are from the first of two completed shoots I’ve done, and I have another one or two planned. They’ll be featuring on a new product I’ll be debuting at the Armidale Baby Expo. A new product, some beautiful images with a beautiful prop, and some exposure for Calamity Bolt, who otherwise wouldn’t be able to make it sounds like a win-win to me!

You can find Calamity Bolt on Facebook, and see what’s in stock in the MadeIt store. For more info on the Armidale Baby Expo, being held in Armidale on September 17, 2011, your can visit their Facebook page as well.

I will be very sad to see these little chaps go home, I definately need to get one for my little people. Do you love hobby horses too?

{class of 2011} :: Tori

April 20, 2011

Last week, I caught up with the delightful Tori while she was in Inverell, and we hung out for a bit and shot her year12 mini-session. This girl is gorgeous. I had such a hard time trying to decide what to blog, so I decided to blog them all!

Thank you, beautiful girl, for hanging with me, and laughing with me. I had so much fun seeing you again, even if it does make me feel old to know you are in year12! xx

{mini-sessions are a great way to celebrate the end of school. for more information, email rachel[at]rachelmeszaros.com.au, call 0404 009 468, or join the facebook page at http://facebook.com/rachelmeszarosphotography – sessions running in Inverell throughout the year, dates available on request}

I got to hang with Grace on Saturday. We laughed, we chatted. We talked about school and work and the future. In between, we shot some photos.

Grace’s session was part of my mini-sessions project. For Year 12 students, a mini-session package is a great way to mark the milestone that is finishing school, and is often the last lot of professional portraits you may get taken before getting married. What a great way to start off your post-school life! I will be regularly running sessions throughout 2011 in Inverell, and am also happy to travel to Glen Innes, Moree, Tenterfield and throughout the Northern NSW/New England area. The next round of mini-sessions will be held on Wednesday, April 13 (the first Wednesday of the school holidays). For full details and scheduled dates, email rachel{at}rachelmeszaros.com.au or follow me on Facebook.

lifestyle maternity

February 7, 2011

I would have to say that lifestyle sessions are some of my favourite to shoot. I love the real-ness – capturing the moments as they happen, showing life as it is, right now. Recently, I got the chance to shoot a lifestyle maternity session with a dear friend of mine, expecting her second child. We had a wonderful morning, just hanging out and chatting, having a coffee, and playing with her adorable little boy.

Lifestyle sessions are a great way to capture life as it happens, without needing any reason greater than craeting memories for the future. Often family portraits are organised to tie-in with a milestone – a birthday, an anniversary, Christmas. A more relaxed lifestyle session is perfect for in between, “just because”. If you are interested in a lifestyle session for your family, children, baby or to celebrate your pregnancy, I’d love to hear from you! My phone number is 0404 009 468, or you can get me by email on rachel{at}rachelmeszaros.com.au – I also can be found on facebook at http://facebook.com/rachelmeszarosphotography.

Just before Christmas, I met up with a bunch of cute little people and their mum & dad to capture some family portraits. I wanted to do something fun, and being part way through a vintange camera Advent photo challenge, I brought along my little Brownie Starlet (circa 1950′s), and we had a play.

Sometime though, the best props are the spontaneous ones, like a piece of bark as a moustache. Smooth, little dude, very smooth.

And little mister watched the goings-on from his safe perch high up in daddy’s arms, wondering what all the fuss was about. Din;t you just want to smmoch those gorgeous little cheeks!

I have been very slack in my blogging, but I have a couple more sessions to blog about, and some very fun new projects coming up in 2011. Want to keep up to date? Why not follow me on Facebook?

From white Christmas to…

November 24, 2010

With a last wave to my two little boys and my husband holding our tiny baby daughter, I headed out of town to meet a very sweet little family who have not long returned from a 3.5 year stint in Canada. The brief for the session was “something rural” to show the folks in Canada. With all the rain we’ve been having, it was a beautiful sight to see the recently brown paddocks turned a glorious green.

I just wanted to share a couple of my favourites from our session…

Big cuddles!

Quite often, my favourite images are the little moments, unposed, unscripted, unrehearsed.

Seniors 2010

September 1, 2010

On Saturday, we finally had a break in the rain, and just in time – I was due to meet up with a couple of super-cute year twelve students to shoot their seniors mini-sessions. Caitlin and Casey were so much fun to shoot, I think I laughed the entire time!

A sneak peek of what we came up with:

Year 12 Class of 2010 portrait mini sessions Mini portrait sessions for year 12 students - great gift idea!

The next round of mini-sessions will be held in Inverell on September 18. For more information, or to register, you can reach me by email at rachel[at]rachelmeszaros.com.au, or by phone on 0404 009 468.

(Not in Inverell? Don’t be shy, drop me an email and we’ll see if we can set something up in your area!).
