Fashions in the field…

August 11, 2011

It’s no secert that I’m a huge fan of tillytom clothes for little people. And with my daughter basically living in Anna’s gorgeous handmade outifts, I get plenty of comments from people wanting to know where I got her clothes. Which sowed the seeds of an idea, and which I can finally share with you.

tillytom is coming to the New England/Northwest!! Anna and I have teamed up for the inaugural tillytom/Rachel Meszaros Photography Trunk Show. If you have a little cutie, and love handmade clothes, this is perfect for you. If you have yet to discover the loveliness that is tillytom, I encourage you to click on the link above, check out the shop, and then come back and get involved.

So what is a Trunk Show and how does it all work? The trunk show is a collaborative event, where you end up with beautiful clothes and beautiful photos. To get involved, you need to book in with me before September 13, and pay your $15 booking fee. Once all the bookings are confirmed, you are emailed a one-time discount code to go shopping in the tillytom store for your favourite outfit, which you can purchase at 15% off. On the day of the trunk show, your bring along your little person in their new outfit, we shoot a mini-session, and a week or so later, you have a gallery to choose your photos from, with your booking fee being applied in full toward your order.

And even more exciting, is Anna has told me she may even be able to open up a couple of rare-as-hens-teeth custom order spots for the show! With custom orders, and a stunning new collection just having been released for girls and boys, there is sure to be something to suit everyone.

To get involved, simply shoot me an email at rachel@rachelmeszaros.com.au, or call me on 0404 009 468 to reserve you place. Booking fees are due by the September 13 close date, and the mini-sessions will be held one day during the September/October NSW school holidays in Inverell. Session numbers are limited, so it is definately first in best dressed!

If you have any questions, please get in touch!

To see more of the new tillytom collection, and to keep in the loop with new releases, be sure to check our the Facebook page. You can also find Rachel Meszaros Photography on Facebook for exclusive session previews and all the latest happenings.

If you are anything like me, getting dressed up to go out can sometimes turn into a bit of a rush, getting children dressed, hairs brushed, “where are your good shoes?”, and, with our second son, “how on earth did you manage to get dirty already?”. Which means I’m the last to get dressed and ready, generally in a hurry.

So I called on Creating your style.

Be sure to head over to Jasmine’s  Facebook page for more fashion and beauty tips and looks. If you are interested in some styled portraits, either with your family or on your own, get in touch and we can get something organised.

A while back, I submitted a couple of concepts to a competition run by Summerblossom Handmade Accessories via their Facebook page. I was thrilled when a little email popped up informing me I’d been selected as one of the ten finalists.

After much postie-stalking, a gorgeous little package arrived in my mailbox. I slowly unwrapped the tissue paper, and there in my hand were two beautiful (and beautifully made) Summerblossom hair pins.

The last details pulled together, Steph and I headed out to our location, and we had a blast shooting some images for the competition. I hope you like these images as much as I do, and if you feel so inclined, I’d appreciate any “likes” or comments on my photo over at Summerblossom’s facbeook page – you can find my photo here.

I got to hang with Grace on Saturday. We laughed, we chatted. We talked about school and work and the future. In between, we shot some photos.

Grace’s session was part of my mini-sessions project. For Year 12 students, a mini-session package is a great way to mark the milestone that is finishing school, and is often the last lot of professional portraits you may get taken before getting married. What a great way to start off your post-school life! I will be regularly running sessions throughout 2011 in Inverell, and am also happy to travel to Glen Innes, Moree, Tenterfield and throughout the Northern NSW/New England area. The next round of mini-sessions will be held on Wednesday, April 13 (the first Wednesday of the school holidays). For full details and scheduled dates, email rachel{at}rachelmeszaros.com.au or follow me on Facebook.

November 12, 2010

On an overcast Saturday morning in early October, I gathered my things, and headed out to meet Heidi for her Class of 2010 Mini-session – my last one before meeting our third baby (more to come on that later!).

We had a lovely time hanging out – Heidi was a natural in front of the camera, and we got some lovely images. I had a hard time picking my favourite to blog, luckily I’ve already done a Facebook post, so could share a different one here!

To see the final result, keep an eye on the blog – I have a post in the works to show some of the funky cards from this year’s mini-sessions.

(For Year12 students in Inverell, I will be running more mini-sessions in late November/early December. To find out more, email me at rachel[at]rachelmeszaros.com.au, and you’ll be the first in the know once dates are finalised. Mini-sessions in Glen Innes, Moree and other locations are subject to minimum numbers – email me at the above email address and we’ll see what we can line up!)

Seniors 2010

September 1, 2010

On Saturday, we finally had a break in the rain, and just in time – I was due to meet up with a couple of super-cute year twelve students to shoot their seniors mini-sessions. Caitlin and Casey were so much fun to shoot, I think I laughed the entire time!

A sneak peek of what we came up with:

Year 12 Class of 2010 portrait mini sessions Mini portrait sessions for year 12 students - great gift idea!

The next round of mini-sessions will be held in Inverell on September 18. For more information, or to register, you can reach me by email at rachel[at]rachelmeszaros.com.au, or by phone on 0404 009 468.

(Not in Inverell? Don’t be shy, drop me an email and we’ll see if we can set something up in your area!).

Warming Up Winter #2

August 26, 2009

Ok, so winter is almost gone, especially after the last few days. Seriously, 33degrees in August? Just crazy! But even though I’m running behind schedule, I’ve finally gotten around to posting my twice-in-a-row-so-we’ll-call-it-annual Warming Up Winter competition, a fun little exercise in review I started last year. I’ve picked five of my favourite images from the last 12-ish months, and I need your help to pick a winner! The client to whom the winning image belongs will receive that image as an 8x10inch print. And this year, just to change things up a bit, I’ll also pick a voter at random, to receive an 8x10inch print – either an image from a previous session, or from their next session with me.

So, on that note, the nominees are *drumroll*

From Ang and Jon’s beautiful wedding at Kings Plains Castle:

I just adore this image from a newborn session I shot in Glen Innes – a sleepy baby holding on tight to her mummy. Tender moments like this pull at my heartstrings.

I think it would be impossible to take a bad photo of this beautiful girl, who was a good sport & helped me kick off my year twelve/seniors sessions.

A delightful 1-week-old baby boy being watched over by his big sister, from a recent Inverell newborn session.
comp4

A very happy little 2-month-old baby – you wouldn’t guess we’d just spent twenty minutes trying to cinvince her to sleep, would you?

So that’s the five. I’ve leave the voting open until Friday, September 11, and then announce the winners sometime after that!

The fine print:
1. One vote per person.
2. Vote by leaving a comment saying which is your favourite image.
3. Voting open from now until midnight September 11.
4. Winning image will be printed as an 8x10inch print for the client to whom the image belongs.
5. One voter will be drawn at random to receive a voucher for an 8x10inch print, valid for all sessions booked before 31 December (to be held before March 31, unless prior arrangements have been made)
6. Voucher winner will be liable for all session fees and travel costs as normally apply.
7. Winner decided by popular vote, so post a link on your Facebook, tweet it, blog it, get the word out & get people voting for your image!
8. Good luck!
